About the Project

When I first told my friends I listen to the radio, they brandished me with the label “old soul”. However, this disconnect with my generation and the previous others got me thinking, why do young people seldom listen to the radio? Is it because they didn’t grow up with it? Are there better options? Or something else?

If you’re reading this, you probably found this link from one of two options- either from my car or from myself. I created the Public Radio Project to conduct a social experiment: can communal input from random individuals increase the pseudo DJ experience and improve everyone’s experience listening to music? Do users want control or do they want great music? With this project, the user’s decide for themselves.

The concept is simple: queue, vote, and share your opinion on songs through the website. When you are synced with Spotify, you can listen along just the same as if you are on a radio, except with none of the common grievances and your own input!

I am still conducting research on this, so if you would like to participate, fill out the following form! I will publish a YouTube video by the end of the month displaying my findings if the project is a success.
